Hunter Adams lives in La Grande, OR. Before performing at the Opera House, he has performed in The Union County Children's Choir and theatre camps in Boise, ID. He has been with the Elgin Opera House since 2016 and has performed in 12 productions there, including Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia, and Newsies, where he portrayed Davey. Hunter is also a member of the award-winning OHYA! group and competed at the annual Junior Theatre Festival since 2018. At JTF 2019, he received the All-Festival Male Performer award.
Tavi is a resident of La Grande and a student at Imbler High School. Tavi has participated in several Opera House productions including a leading role in last year’s production of An Inspector Calls at the Hale Turner Little Theatre. He also is a member of the award-winning Opera House Youth Actors and will compete with the group again this June. Tavi also enjoys skateboarding and other outdoor activities.
Atticus is a 14-year-old eighth-grader at Sunridge Middle School in Pendleton. This is his theater debut however he has been playing basketball for 9 years now. He is excited to learn all about Crème brûlée and to bring his basketball skills to the stage. He would like to thank his sister, Adelaide Tesch (also in the production), who introduced him to Terry who made him be in this.
Theatre is a part of Blake’s blood.... without it... he cannot function. This will be Blake’s 25th production and hopes to make it his best. Blake is known for his memorable performances of Lord Farquaad (Shrek), Edna (Hairspray), Uncle Fester (Addams Family), Gaston (Beauty and the Beast), and many more. He has a son and wife who support him in his hobbies with which he is forever grateful. Blake says: "Go team HSM."
Connor is a La Grande High School 2020 graduate! He loves every aspect of the theater, especially being in shows. Connor was bit by the theater bug when he saw Shrek at the Elgin Opera House in 2013. This will be Connor's 6th show with the Opera House. He also loves to discuss directing ideas and plans with Terry! Connor plans to attend EOU and take theater classes.
Laura was born and raised in La Grande. She graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and just began a new job with Eastern Oregon Head Start. Laura has always loved to sing and participated in choir all throughout school as well as several years in the community choir. She has participated in quite a few musicals and theater camps throughout the years. In high school Laura was in a production of Little Shop of Horrors. She has been in a few Opera House productions, starting with Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire then on to The Little Mermaid! Laura has been a Opera House Theatre mom for quite a few productions and really loves all aspects of The Elgin Opera House experience!
Gary has done several productions at the Opera House. He got started when his daughter was in the first production of Annie. She conned him into taking a small part that needed filling. He ended up with two parts and a love for acting! Doing shows together was his Father/Daughter thing together, but when she moved away to college, he had to admit that he just enjoyed doing it! It has been a couple of years since he been in a production and he is thoroughly looking forward to it!
Abby lives in Elgin, OR. She has been doing plays at the Opera House for 6 years. She has done roughly about 15 plays at the Opera House. Her favorites were Newsies, Aladdin Jr., Annie, and Mary Poppins. She has participated in OHYA for 2 years and in June it will be her third year. She was cast as the lead Matilda in the upcoming musical Matilda! She cannot wait to do more plays and meet new people!
Ahnica is a seventeen-year-old who lives in Union, OR. She is currently playing volleyball for Union High School and Eastern Oregon Volleyball Club. She has had a passion for dance ever since she was three years old and continues in ballet and en pointe. She also enjoys shooting, hunting, and karate. Ahnica plays guitar and sings with her Worship Team at Church and is working on learning the piano. Although home schooled her whole life, she has been taking college courses, and is enjoying getting a head start on her future. She is accustomed to being on stage for dance shows and ballets, but this is her first musical. She knows she has attended more plays put on by Elgin Opera House than she can count, but she is ecstatic about being in High School Musical with her three sisters and all of the cast! Ahnica says “Go Wildcats!”
Sawyer is 12 years old and is in 6th grade. Her favorite things to do are Volleyball, Basketball, Ice Skating, Skiing, Snowboarding, Dancing, Playing The Flute, Playing Soccer, Tennis, Octagon Dodgeball, Fishing, Hunting, and Shooting Guns.
She lives on a farm and loves animals. Her favorite animal is a pig. This is her first musical and she is excited to be in High School Musical.
Toryn is nine years old and Lives in Union, Oregon. She loves ware lives she is in third grade, loves to read and do gymnastics. Her favorite subject in school as a home schooler is math. Toryn enjoys many things, such as singing, trips, horses, and surprises! Her favorite three colors are pink, aqua, and purple. She does dance, Awana, Rock climbing and skiing. She sings with her Worship Team at Church, but this is her first musical. Her favorite play by the Elgin Opera House is Annie. She is excited to be in High School Musical!
Emalee is an 8th grader at La Grande Middle School. Emalee has been a part of the Elgin Opera House for 6 years now, starting at 7 years old! HSM will be her 7th show!! Emalee loves to perform and is excited to be a part of this show. When Emalee is not on the stage, she loves reading fan fictions (characters from shows inside stories).
Mackenzie Is 12 years old and in the 6th grade. She lives in La Grande, Oregon. She loves to play volleyball, basketball, and track. In the summer, she likes to play outside on her trampoline and play with her siblings. She has 5 sisters and no brothers. This Mackenzie’s first musical. She loves being a Brainiac!!
Brooklyn is seven years old and attends Imbler Elementary. After watching a number of performances at the Opera House, she is so excited to be part of one. She loves animals and in her free time enjoys riding horses, doing gymnastics, swimming, and spending time with her family.
Olivia is an 8-year-old in second grade at Stella Mayfield School in Elgin. She first got the acting bug while participating in the Aladdin JR theater camp. When not singing or playing Minecraft, Olivia enjoys tending her flock of geese and ducks with her favorite being Lily, the goose.
Gabe is 16 years old and has been into film and acting for most of his life. He has produced two full-length movies on his YouTube channel and is planning to do more in the future. He moved from the Willamette Valley to the Grande Ronde Valley last summer and fell in love with the area. Gabe also has a passion for weather ever since preschool and wants to pursue his degree in meteorology at Oregon State University in a few years. Brent Clapp offered him a position at EOAliveTV as the local weatherman, he now provides the most accurate weather forecast for Eastern Oregon. But once Brent found out that Gabe loves filming just as much, he gave him the job to produce this musical with Tim Koza. Gabe is very thankful to work with such an amazing cast and crew and can't wait to see what the future brings!
Siaira lives in Walla Walla, Wa. She has been a dancer since she was 3 years old. She is currently on the Wa-Hi dance team and has studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, Pom, and pointe. She has also performed with the Missoula Children’s theatre as well as other plays at her school and local community theatre. She sings with her worship team at church, has been in honor choir and has taken private singing lessons. This will be Siaira’s first time performing at the Elgin Opera House.
Kaylie is 13 and lives in La Grande, OR. Kaylie is always singing and loves playing the violin, piano, and guitar. She has performed in a variety of shows since she was 8 years old, most of them with the STARS children theatre group in her previous hometown of Evanston, Wyoming. After moving to La Grande, she was a part of the Newsies cast at the Elgin Opera House. She was also cast as Lavender in the Opera House’s upcoming production of Matilda. Kaylie is a new member of the OHYA! group and is looking forward to competing with her teammates at the Junior Theatre Festival this summer.
Kalina is fourteen years old and lives in Baker City. She has loved singing for a long time and decided to try acting a few years ago. Kalina is a competitive soprano soloist. She acted in two other plays with Missoula Children’s Theater and Eastern Oregon Regional Theater. She is thrilled to be playing the role of Taylor.
Livvy is 13 years old and attends Union High school. Five years ago, Livvy performed in her first show, A Little Mermaid, and went on to perform in19 productions. Recently, Livvy played Jane in Mary Poppins, a featured role in Newsies, at the Opera House, and Teen Fiona in Shrek the Musical at BMCC. She has been a member of the Opera House Youth Actors (OHYA!) for two years now and won the All-Star award last year at the Junior Theatre Festival in Sacramento. She will be competing again this year in June and hopes to take up acting professionally when she is older.
Madeline is 17 and is a Junior at Pendleton High School. She has been in productions at the Elgin Opera House, Blue Mountain Community College, and Pendleton High School since she was 9 years old. Recently, Madeline played a featured role in Newsies at the Elgin Opera House, Mary in The Children's Hour at Pendleton High School, and Princess Jasmine in Aladdin at the Elgin Opera House. This is her fourth year as a member of the award-winning OHYA! group. Madeline is excited to be back at the Opera House for another show.
Cherise lives in Cove, OR. This will be her second production with the Elgin Opera House after joining the cast of Mamma Mia! She is the teacher at Cove Preschool and spends her free time with her husband and kids or running and doing CrossFit. She is excited to be a part of High School Musical especially since all her kids are participating as well.
Ellie is an 11-year-old from Helix, Oregon. She loves to play volleyball and dance. Like her older sister, Ellie fell in love with theatre when doing theatre camp at BMCC a few years ago. She participated in Shrek the Musical at BMCC and she is looking forward to doing a show with the Elgin Opera House.
Abby is 14 years old and lives in Pendleton. She has been in 2 plays at BMCC. She has done 2 school plays and has been in her school talent show twice. she loves to sing, act, and dance. This is her first show at the Elgin Opera House. She is very happy that she has this opportunity to be in HSM.
Isabelle (Bella) Estrada
Bella 13-years-old and lives in Pendleton. She has been in several plays at BMCC, including Annie, Godspell, Shrek, and The Sound of Music, but this is her first show at the Elgin Opera House. She has been missed being in a show this past year and is very grateful to be a part of HSM.
Kaelyn lives in beautiful Union, Oregon. She loves to play volleyball and Basketball and likes to play football for fun with her brother. In the Summertime she likes to fish and climb her family's mountain, with some occasional ultimate frisbee in there. Kaelyn is 14 years old and takes a couple classes at UHS but is mostly homeschooled. Kaelyn plays the violin, ukulele, and sings for her Churches Worship. This is Kaelyn’s first ever musical! She has had a blast being a Cheerleader! Let's go Wildcats!!!
Miri is a 7th grader at La Grande Middle School. Before this play, Miri has done a few plays at her school and was in Matilda at the Opera House. When she is not singing and dancing, she enjoys running, baking, hanging out with her friends, and hanging out with her family especially in the outdoors.
Cecilia Villagomez Edvalson
Cecilia is 14 years old and is an 8th grader at La Grande Middle School. This is Cecilia's second musical but her first at the Elgin Opera House. She was also in The Music Man at La Grande High School. She really likes to act and sing and hopes to one day be an actress. Aside from singing and acting, she also really enjoys being around her family and friends and running in cross country. Cecilia is really excited to be a part of a musical at the Elgin Opera House and to be working with all of you!
Joey started theater at age 4 in the Opera House production of Peter Pan. He has been in over 20 musicals at the Opera House and BMCC. He is a member of the award-winning Opera House Youth Actors (OHYA) and won an All-star award for his portrayal of Yertle the Turtle in Seussical the Musical. Joey loves football and other outdoor activities. Joey likes to help his dad with Opera House tech and construction. He will not admit it, but he is a pretty darn good actor. He has great sense of humor and looks forward to working with all of you.
Henry is 11 years old and attends 6th grade at Cove School. Henry loves performing, having had several small roles in church and school productions. He is currently cast as Eric in the upcoming Matilda. He is very excited to be a part of High School Musical. In real life, Henry would fit in well with the "brainiacs" but he loves all things music and spends hours a day practicing piano or playing his saxophone.
Tess is a student from La Grande studying 2D Animation online with CG Spectrum. Throughout middle school and high school, she participated in many Elgin Opera House productions, including “13: The Musical”, “Oliver”, “Every Christmas Story Ever Told”, and “The Little Mermaid”. She also enjoyed participating in productions at La Grande High School. Tess has loved to draw and paint her whole life, and has occasionally helped her mother, Beth Wasley, with set painting for both the Opera House and LHS.
Sarah lives in Cove, OR. She is a freshman in high school, and she has been a competitive swimmer for eight years. She sang with the Union County Children's Choir and currently sings with her worship team at church. Sarah is taking private voice lessons and improving her vocal and acting skills through online workshops. This will be Sarah’s second time performing at the Elgin Opera
Chase Murray is an 18-year-old senior at Joseph Charter School. Chase has one younger sister and seven older siblings. He started varsity basketball his freshman year and led the team in scoring the last three years. Through High School, he developed a passion for acting and decided to bring back the drama club. Chase has been directing and teaching kids in the new drama program for two years. Chase will be competing at JTF with the Opera House Youth Actors this June in Texas. He is looking to go to USC School of Dramatic Arts to follow my passion for acting.
An Eastern Oregon native, Misty finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Music in 1991 and her Master’s in Education in 1992, both at EOU. Misty has been teaching in La Grande School District for 29 years and still loves her career. Some of Misty’s roles (from many years ago) included Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. More recently, you may have seen her in several Elgin Opera House productions, where her roles have included Miss Hannigan in Annie, Miss Shields in A Christmas Story, and Rosie in Mamma Mia! Misty’s hobbies include being involved in her daughter’s activities, performing, and assisting with community theater, reading, traveling, Zumba, and striving to improve as a teacher so she can change her corner of the world.
Maddy is 16 years old. She lives in Baker City, OR, and is homeschooled. Maddy has acted in Missoula Children’s theatre with her three younger siblings for many years. She plays the piano and has taken hip hop and country swing dance classes. Maddy has performed as a soloist in several plays at her church. She has always loved acting, singing, and dancing. She is “so excited to be a part of this play!”
Adelaide is a sophomore this year at Pendleton High School. She is so relieved and happy to be able to participate in theater even in these hard times. This will be her third production with Terry and fourth musical. She has also participated in her school’s drama program allowing her to find her favorite role: Hope in Almost, Maine. She is very excited to have her first speaking role in a musical, even if it’s just two lines. She’s also glad to be a part of High School Musical with her brother, Atticus, and sister, Lorelai.
High School Musical is Sydney’s sixth time performing in a play at the Elgin Opera House. She performed in The Wizard of Oz, Seussical the Musical, Aladdin jr., Mary Poppins, and Matilda. She also studies tap and jazz when she is not in a musical. In her free time, she likes to read fantasy, mystery, and adventure books, and do art. She loves being a cheerleader in High School Musical!
Victoria is a 14-year-old from Helix, Oregon. She enjoys playing sports and hanging out with her friends. Victoria fell in love with theatre when doing theatre camp at BMCC a few years ago. She participated in Shrek the Musical and The Sound of Music at BMCC. She is super excited, and grateful for this opportunity!
Lyla is a ten-year-old from La Grande. She loves ballet and plays the violin and piano. Lyla has been in several children’s theatre productions, but this is her first time performing with the Elgin Opera House. She is so excited! With just one rehearsal under her belt, she can already tell that it’s going to be so much fun!
Rose is 13 years old and lives in Elgin, OR. She has been in The Little Mermaid, Christmas Story, Wizard of Oz, Addams Family, The Little Princess, Mary Poppins, Newsies, Postponed Matilda, and High School Musical. She loves going on walks with her dog Sasha and taking care of her Fern plant. She is excited to meet all the new actors in HSM.
Ian has been in 6 Opera House productions and is currently cast as "Michael Wormwood" in Matilda. Ian has also performed in three other productions. He was a technician for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at La Grande High School. Ian has a huge heart for acting, but, when he is not on the stage, he is on the field playing in the LHS Marching Band drumline. Ian also performs in the LHS Wind Ensemble as a percussionist.
Ryan lives in Elgin, OR and has been doing shows at the Opera House for about four years now. You may have seen him in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Aladdin Jr., A Little Princes, Mamma Mia and Newsies. He has participated in OHYA for two years and is excited to do High School Musical.
Fern is an 11-year-old 6th grader at La Grande Middle School. She is very excited to be a part of another Elgin Opera House production! She was in the summer camp productions of Wizard of Oz and Aladdin Jr and is cast as Hortensia in Matilda. Besides singing and dancing, Fern also enjoys reading and drawing.
Quinn is 7 years old and in 1st grade at Cove School. Quinn is an avid reader and spends a lot of his day reading books of all kind (especially science). Like his brother, he shows great interest in music and practices piano often. This will be his first performance with the Elgin Opera House.
Tim is 17 years old and a Junior in High School. He interned with Brent Clapp Productions last summer, and it gave him a taste for the film industry. He is very excited to be putting his skills to the test to produce this musical. Apart from filming and school, he has been swimming competitively for over ten years and has been playing piano for a long time. He intends to attend Grand Canyon University in the fall of 2022 to get a degree in Digital Film. He is very thankful for the opportunity to work with Gabe Curtis to film and edit this project and to work with the rest of the cast and crew!
Beth is from La Grande and has been painting for the Elgin Opera House
for five years. Some of the sets she has painted are "The Little
Mermaid," "Mamma Mia!", "The Addams Family," and "Mary Poppins". She
loves having the opportunity to be a part of the theater team without
ever actually having to be on stage!
