The Friends of the Opera House are pleased to announce auditions for their upcoming production of Oklahoma! -
See the casting details below.
The auditions will be held remotely
Please submit auditions by December 15th, 2025
Auditioners should sing a song from Oklahoma.
Please sing with an instrumental/karaoke track.
The auditioner will also need to present to us the following:
Tell us about your experience in the theater
Tell us something awesome or fun about yourself
Tell us why you want to work with us on this production
Please note that we are looking to see your personality and stage presence. When sharing your information, please let your personality shine through.
Step one: Please fill out this audition form (click here)!
Step two: Record and submit your remote audition video. Please fill out the audition form and then upload your audition to YouTube as "unlisted" and email the link to:
auditions@elginoperahouse.com
Please include the name of the auditioner in your email.
Or upload your video to a Google Drive or any other sharing platform where you can give us access.

This production will be directed by Denise Wheeler.
Performance dates:
Fridays and Saturdays, March 7 - March 28.
Performance & Rehearsal Venue:
The Elgin Opera House Mainstage.
Rehearsals will start with some music & bookwork in January. We will aggressively work on Choreo and scene work in January and February.
Some choreography rehearsals may be held at alternate venues in La Grande.

Oklahoma! Cast Breakdown
Curly McLain
A charming, confident cowboy with a warm voice. Romantic lead who courts Laurey.
Key Songs: “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top”
Laurey Williams
An independent farm girl who is both strong-willed and romantic. Torn between Curly and Jud.
Key Songs: “Many a New Day,” “People Will Say We’re in Love”
Jud Fry
A troubled, socially awkward hired hand. Dark and moody, deeply infatuated with Laurey.
Key Song: “Lonely Room”
Aunt Eller
Laurey’s no-nonsense, wise, and witty aunt. The moral center of the community.
Ado Annie Carnes
A flirtatious, bubbly girl with a big heart. Caught between Will Parker and Ali Hakim.
Key Song: “I Cain’t Say No”
Will Parker
A lovable cowboy, slightly dim, but full of heart and dance moves. Determined to win Ado Annie.

Ali Hakim
An itinerant Persian peddler. Smooth-talking, funny, and accidentally engaged to Ado Annie.
Andrew Carnes
Ado Annie’s protective father. Demands that suitors prove their worth.
Gertie Cummings
A local girl known for her irritating laugh. Competes for Curly’s attention.
Cord Elam
The lawman of the town. Keeps order and officiates disputes.
Ike Skidmore
A respected farmer who hosts the box social. Community leader.
